Well, I'm glad you asked. For me, beekeeping started as an interesting hobby - something new and exciting that was also educational and environmentally beneficial while not taking up an inordinate amount of time.  That hobby quickly grew into a passion as I immersed myself in learning as much as I possibly could about honey bees and beekeeping.  Over the course of the time I have been keeping bees, I have found that beekeeping is as much art as it is science.  It can be as mentally exhausting and frustrating as it can be absolutely exhilirating and rewarding. At the end of the day, however, it is an amazing experience and I can't imagine a life without honey bees (or my totally awesome wife).

We have a couple of apiary locations which are located on the outskirts of Galena, IL.  Our artisan honey begins by working hard to maintain healthy honey bee colonies and providing them with a wide variety of native sources of pollen and nectar.

I personally inspect every ounce of honey that we harvest.  It is extracted by hand, strained for purity, and bottled all on site - especially for you.  Bees have perfected the recipe; the less we mess with it, the better it is.  We never heat treat, filter, pasteurize, or otherwise alter the natural, sweet, wholesome goodness that pure honey provides.
